B-Suite Hotel: Studio Suite

Have u guys ever checked into B-Suite Hotel before?

“B” should stand for Business. At first, I thought it stand for lower quality (else they would call it A-Suite Hotel right?), but I was pretty impressed with the Studio Suite which only cost RM135nett for now; and with my corporate discount rate I only need to pay less than that.

On check-in, I realized that the Studio Suite is pretty spacious. It could easily occupy 8 people plus 2 Mahjong Tables!

The space in between the bed and tv makes my tv remote looks so small. I still don’t understand why they placed the chair in this way, for me to stare at the door?

There’s a safety box big enough for me to store my laptop, charger, battery, keyboard… (okay it’s quite big)

The bathroom looks simple but NO BATHTUB! It seems the hotel management dislike people swimming or diving or snorkeling because there is also no swimming pool around!

Although the hotel does not provide breakfast, but they do provide sachets of pre-mix coffee and tea; as well as 2 mugs and a kettle. This means I could make coffee and cook Maggie Mee! Yeah! Maybe I could use it as mini-steamboat next time.

Actually I had checked into 2 rooms for my visiting relatives, therefore I could compare the view from both rooms. Sorry for the blury photos... i think i need good camera next time.
The view from the room facing the sea is as such:

The view from the room facing inner Penang is as such:

Overall, it is a nice room with the price I am paying, hope they do provide breakfast next time. So who want to experience the Studio Suite with me in the future? Emmm.. okay that sounds wrong, forget it!

My Accidental Date at House of Dumplings

It was Friday lunch time, Susan (My colleague who is from different department but handling the same project as me) and I had invited all our Indian friends for lunch before one of them leaves Penang back to their Motherland because of personal matters (I heard that it was due to Mumbai Incident). Our plan was taking them to experience good local food at a more hygiene places – New World Park.

It ended up that they were invited by other team at the very last minute. Since Susan and I had rejected our other appointments because of this, we decided to continue our current plan with just the two of us (YEEEEAAAAH)! Come on, dining with a pretty girl versus winning lottery, and I thought winning lottery has the higher chance. Maybe I should go try my luck in lottery tomorrow.

Anyway, we settled down at a restaurant called Shanghai: House of Dumplings to try out the food (mainly Susan did the ordering.. Dominant girl…wow!) . The setting was not bad but I thought I saw the tea cup from somewhere… is it Sushi King?

I ordered a Pork Rib Soup Noodles. I was an okay dish but the nice thing was the tenderness of the noodle.

Apparently, Susan loved the noodle she ordered till never stay still for me to snap a photo.

The dumpling Susan ordered looked a bit weird, maybe the chef was watching porn when he was making them. But it tasted nice.

Next it was fried Mango Bun thingly (I don’t know the name because Susan ordered it). The skin was crispy but the Mango paste inside was cold. Is this normal?

The last thing Susan ordered was some fried bun with don’t-know-what paste. It was hot ( I mean the food, not Susan) but tasted okay.

Well, this was how I spent my accidental lunch date. I still don’t understand why Susan is slim while I am fat. Unfair world!

Oh ya, for your information, Susan is already taken (not by me of course!) Sorry guys! Or girls! But you can reach her at 012-230XXXX ( 10,000 tries). Good luck!

Dealing With 'Unlock' Laptop

In my workplace leaving laptop idle and unattended without password protection enabled is a serious offence. If caught by our security enforcer, the owner’s manager will be notified through emails and warning will also be issued. This is due to the competitive nature of our business.

However, in our department, we deal with this violation quite differently. Usually, when there is an ‘unlocked’ laptop laying around we would be using the laptop to send ‘interesting’ mails to people.

For example, mail to a randomly choosen girl/guy (usually recently join colleague) in our department…

…or mail to our manager…

…or even mail of special announcement.

Things get more exciting when people took the mail seriously (Congratulation him on his wedding, the girl accepts or rejects him, and our manager starts killing him with jobs); but since we kept playing the same tricks, people started realising the prank. We too start getting bored of playing the same prank everytime.

So lately, we don’t play with mail anymore. We start messing with scheduled program. For example, at certain time of the day, the laptop will play our condom mp3 or any other embarrassing song; or for no reason the laptop suddenly pops up a scary image, like this:

In addition, we too mess around with the wallpaper or background of the laptop:

I guess soon we will start getting tired of these tricks, any suggestion of trick or prank?

The Day I Confessed My Feelings

Lately I did something courageous because I could not keep it in my heart anymore. The feeling has been accumulating inside me until it burst out into words. I finally confessed my feeling to that person. Till now I still don’t know it was a good thing or not. Our interaction has been lesser to none.

I guess this is a good moment for me to cool down, but somehow I still don’t know what is on that person’s mind. These few days, I had sleepless night. I still remember what I did on 21 November 2008 at 4:35pm. Sigh… I guess what’s done is done!

Curious to know what I did? Let me summarize it and share what I did. (scroll down)

Just a high-paid colleague who knows nothing, kept repeating the same mistake and always being loved by his boss.

Cafeteria Job Names

Just now I was at my workplace cafeteria, taking a cup of coffee (Yeah, I work pretty late). I somehow ended up sipping my coffee and studying the organization chart of our main cafeteria operator – Meng Catering.

It made me really puzzled.

Isn’t dishwasher something like this….

Or like this …

Since when it is like this?

And isn’t server something like this….

Or this….

Is this person related to IBM or what?

I think I better have my English double check. Maybe i should call the lady that handles laundry as Washing Machine!

BBQ Night!

*Please understand that this blog will change anytime if my colleagues object to what I have written here or they prefer protecting their identities*

It had been a stressful week, so last month some of our close colleagues decided to have a BBQ Night to cure our stress! This is usually our tradition where we have fun together while trying to keep our mind off work.

We were pretty skillful setting up fire at our BBQ trolley. We have pretty good inferno within seconds!

With the help of fan of course!

As for the food, we had the best BBQ chicken, we called it YS Chicken! BBQed by YS herself !

The recipe was Super Top Secret!

It was so nice that we marinated someone’s hand also! Guess that person didn’t like it.

We had spaghetti prepared by E (Actually it was by a couple both with initial 'MC' and since E=MC², so that’s why). The paste was delicious! So we finished up the paste and the last person had to finish up the spaghetti with Tomato Ketchup. Poor guy!

We had other foods too….

… and also some experimental food too (Prawn with alcohol and Prawn with Soft drinks, Yuck?)

It was a nice BBQ, so what’s next?

Booze time! Alcohol was a thing that will never run out! Bankai had lots of supplies!

I had bad experience with alcohol because I am not much of a drinker. Probably I will blog the consequences of me getting drunk one day….
